I am writing a book!

Yes, you read that right!

I have exciting news! I am writing a book!!!

she would be thrilled to know that in 14 years she would have real arm tattoos and she’d be writing a book of her own <3! She would be confused why it wasn’t fiction/didn’t include fairies/monsters/that sort of thing.

Before we get into that, first, I want to say thank you. Whether you are a one-off reader of Jenna’s Column, sit with bated breath for each post (all 3 of you), or somewhere in between (most of you). I am truly amazed that so many folks read my words every week. I started this publication while working at an ice-cream shop, post-grad, wondering what the heck God was up to. I kept it up while I was at a corporate job, dreaming of one day writing full-time…

Here I am, with a signed contract with a literary agency and a writing job (almost) full-time, and attending my dream seminary program. God is so kind!

Thank you so much for supporting my work, even if that just means occasionally reading this newsletter. You helped my work get in front of the right people. Bless you!

Let’s talk about how we got here, what I am imagining my book to be about, and all the things.

This one, and my upcoming posts about the book, will just for the paid subs because now my writing time will be split between Substack and le book <3 and I want to keep those who are invested in my work updated, while also honoring the necessary secrecy of the creative process.

I am picturing this series—of which I will conjure up a clever name for later; please leave suggestions in the comments—being a bit of a digital diary of the book-writing process.
